The
FDS GSM Camera is a GSM/GPRS enabled VGA camera that can take pictures on
demand or on activation of external events. It is equipped with multiple I/O
expansion and can be easily interfaced to external equipment and can also be
expanded with audio hardware to allow remote listening. Our Camera can be
located anywhere in the world with GSM coverage and you can sit at your PC,
call the camera and take pictures directly to your desktop. You can also
command the FDS Camera to contact you via SMS, email or directly to your PC
when any of its sensors are activated. The camera can e-mail a picture as an
attachment, send it to your website or you can have it online to your server
and take pictures as required. The pictures it delivers are colour images with
selectable resolution from 80x60 to 640x480 pixels. The FDS Camera is typically
powered from a mains adaptor but also has its own backup battery that powers it
in the event of mains failure.
If
you use the RS485 version of the FDS camera then you can connect multiple
cameras to a single GSM/GPRS controller. A single broadcast command can request
all cameras to take a picture at the same time.
The
camera also has a web server option so that you can take a picture in real-time
using the internet and you can do this with a PC or mobile phone using a
standard web browser. Just call up its home page and you’ll be presented
with a web page where you can just click and take a picture. This version
usually requires a fixed IP SIM.
FDS
Camera is supplied with PC software to configure the camera to your
requirements. You can also configure the camera remotely by SMS, email or
dialup.
Posting
a picture to a web server using GPRS:
This
method uses the GPRS network so it’s faster than CSD and probably
cheaper. The GSM Remote camera sends a picture to the web server using HTTP
POST on any of the following events.
1. On activation of any of it’s inputs
2. On
a regular timed basis e.g. every hour.
3. On
voice call i.e. a call to the voice number of the FDS GSM Camera unit will, if
the calling number is recognised, send a picture.
Emailing

voice call i.e. a call to the voice number of the GSM Remote unit will, if the
calling number is recognised, send a picture.
